| Anti-War Left Gets Help from Unexpected Quarter |

…The reactionary right. Seems that a group, billing itself as “whistle-blowers� in the War on Terror are not what their erstwhile allies might wish them to be. In this case, anti-Semites and racists.
The group bills itself as “Ghost Troop,� and their correspondence takes this further designating 3/7 Cybercav (whatever that might be) in the signature block, trading on the good name of the 3-7 (Gary Owen) Cavalry Squadron. Their leader is one “CPT� (still trying to verify the rank) Eric Holmes May from the Houston, TX area. Web page here complete with pic of the "CPT" in hs bathrobe.
Apparently Mr. May was, at one time, a US Army Military Intelligence officer, but he is no longer in any active status (he is not a registered user of Army Knowledge Online). He is actively engaged with two other organizations, however, the Adelaide Institute, and the National Vanguard. (Thanks to Kate-A for the clue.)
The National Vanguard is a US White Supremacist group. The Adelaide Institute is an Australian group of Holocaust deniers. Such lovely company the good captain keeps.
All of this came to my attention when Maggie (who got it from Jeff Harrell at Shape of Days) pointed me to a story about a SFC Donald Buswell.
SFC Buswell is undergoing a 15-6 investigation and the various Indiemedia, Iconclast and al-Jazeera (what a group, eh) reports make it appear that investigation to be predicated on the SFC’s reply to an unsolicited e-mail in which the senior NCO questions the attack on the Pentagon on 11 September 2001.
The phrase “disloyal to the Army� is used a lot in these stories. That raised questions for me. The Army does not initiate 15-6 investigations into free speech or stupidity. So what was the investigation for and why the disloyalty charge? I have been, at different times, responsible for enforcing the regulations concerning use of government computers and this didn’t seem to be commensurate.
Maggie found the link while I was still doing background. SFC Buswell had accepted membership in this Ghost Troop and was in communication with Mr. May. The Adelaide Institute page archiving this shows some potential falling out between the two, but SFC Buswell damns himself by offering TS/SCI information if he can verify May’s clearance.

It’s more than enough for an investigation. And it justifies the disloyalty charge even if Ghost Troop were not an anti-Semitic, racist organization.
Another troubling association comes up in looking into this. Mr. May claims that his great friend, a US Ambassador, is a member of Ghost Troop. I’ve found no indication that this Ambassador, Ghost Troop’s former Chaplain, is being investigated, but such an investigation would certainly seem to be warranted. Mr. May often cites his personal relationship with the Ambassador as a way of establishing his bona fides.
Some hijinks of Ghost Troop include claims that Hurricanes Katrina and Rita were controlled by the US Government’s Weather Control satellites; a sine qua non theory of the old US Militia movement. They also take a page from Lyndon LaRouche, they run about claiming an attack of some kind or other is imminent and then claim credit for averting it when it doesn’t happen.
Mr. May makes his living as an elementary school teacher in the Houston area.

UPDATE TWO: Al-Jazeera is reporting the Army has tried to "assassinate" SFC Buswell. Note the article is by Eric May.
